The traditional Royal-Thomian encounter has been pushed back by one day due to the funeral of Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thero, Nayaka Priest of Sri Sambodi Viharaya which is scheduled to take place on Thursday. The Battle of the Blues has been shifted to Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Joint Organizing committee issued the following statement. “The Royal-Thomian cricket encounter 2018 has been rescheduled for Friday(9) , Saturday (10) and Sunday (11) as a mark of respect for the prelate’s funeral arrangements at Independence Square on Thursday(8). Your tickets and car passes already issued will be valid Friday through Sunday.”
It was also informed that the Cycle Parade, will take place as usual on Wednesday, with no events being held on Thursday.
