Royal College secured dominant victories over Isipathana College in both the under 14 and under 16 encounters 10-5 and 22-05 respectively, at the Royal College Sport Complex today (22nd June).
Under 16
Royal youngsters started in dominant fashion and it quickly paid off when they broke through for their first converted try of the game early on. The Isipathana boys struggled in the first half, with majority of their attacks being quickly cut short by the strong Royal defence.
Royal continued to put pressure on the Isipathana defense and eventually broke thorough once again for their unconverted try. Moments before the referee blew for half time, Isipathana, with good passing play, dove over the line for their first unconverted try.
The majority of play in the second half took place in the Isipathana half, as the Isipathana juniors struggled to keep hold of possession in the face of the Royal attack as they scored their third unconverted try. Royal continuously put pressure on the Isipathana backline and it paid off when in the dying moments of the game they broke through once again for their fourth unconverted try before the referee blew for full time.

Under 14
Young Royalists started the game in attacking fashion and it paid off when they broke through the green machine defense to score an unconverted try in the first half.
The Royal juniors continued their supremacy in the second half, scoring yet another unconverted try, early on in the half. Isipathana managed to break through and add one unconverted try before the referee blew for full time.
