Bowlers dominated the opening days play in the inter school under 19 cricket match between Royal College and Isipathana College which commenced at the BRC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.
Isipathana College were bundle out for just 145 runs in their first innings after they had won the toss and elected to bat first and in reply Royal College also struggled to reach 80 for three wickets at stumps.
In fact Isipathana College laboured for nearly sixty overs in reaching their total with only Diluka Shehan showing any signs of real urgency for runs while compiling a sedate half century despite some splendid bowling from Malith Kariyawasam who finished with a four wicket haul.
Royal College too continued with the same pace when they started their innings and so far they have faced a total of 33 overs in making 80 for 3 wickets while maintaining a scoring rate of under three runs per over.
