In their 2nd fixture of the Road Safety World Series Season 2, Sri Lanka Legends had a convincing victory against England Legends by 7 wickets to make it 2 wins out of 2 in the tournament.
Sri Lanka Legends skipper TM Dilshan, who won the toss, invited England Legends to bat first at Kanpur. From the first over England Legends struggled big time as Nuwan Kulasekara and skipper Dilshan tightened the screws from ball 1. But it was the legendary all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya who wreaked havoc as he turned back time with a terrific spell of bowling.
Jayasuriya took 4 wickets for 3 runs in his 4 overs which included 20 dot balls. 2 of the 4 overs were maidens and the 4 wickets he took were of Mal Loye, Darren Maddy, Tim Ambrose and Dimitri Mascarenhas. Chathuranga de Silva and Kulasekara also took 2 wickets each as England were bowled out for just 78 runs in 19 overs. For England Legends, only 4 batters managed to reach the double figure mark and skipper Ian Bell’s 15 was their highest score.
