Maris Stella College, Negombo won the boys’ championship, while Lyceum International School, Wattala clinched the overall girls’ championship concluding the colorful and competitive Ritzbury Relay Carnival 2024.

Lyceum International School, Wattala scored a total of 120 points, clinching the girls’ overall championship with Walala A Rathnayake Central College placing 2nd in the girls’ competition.
Day 3 and the ultimate day of the Ritzbury Relay Carnival featured a diverse array of track competitions, mainly focusing on medley relays. Western Province schools excelled, winning the majority of the events, a shift from the first two days which saw schools from other provinces dominating the competitions.
Despite the dominance of the schools from the western province on bday 3 Walala A Rathnayake Central College spread their authority in the long-distance relays, they clinched gold medals in U18 and U20 girl’s long-distance medley relays to continue their good performances throughout the competition.
The most exciting and fastest race of the day was the 4×100 relay, which saw Western Province schools excel across all age groups and in both boys’ and girls’ categories.
There’s still plenty of action ahead on day 4 of the Ritzbury Relay Carnival, with some exciting races yet to come. Spectators can look forward to thrilling performances and fierce competition as the event continues.
