Sri Lanka under 19 Captain and Richmond College all-rounder, Charith Asalanka was adjudged the School Boy Cricketer of the Year 2014/15 at the annual Singer-SLSCA awards ceremony held at Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall on Thursday.
The stylish left-handed top-order batsman and genuine off-spinner scored 533 runs and claimed 69 wickets throughout the season and he missed most of the matches due to national duty as he led the Sri Lanka under 19 team to many victories against the visiting Bangladesh under 19 team. Charith Asalanka shared his exclusive views to www.thepapare.com just after receiving the award, “I am really happy to have won this award after a superb 2014/15 season. As the under 19 captain, I am confident that I can guide my team to win the ICC Youth World Cup in 2016.”
