Richmond College overcame Maris Stella College by 68 runs, while Maliyadeva College beat Trinity College by 6 wickets in their Singer-Cup limited over quarter final encounters which took place today.
Richmond College batting first made a formidable 283 in 49.1 overs on a good batting surface in Surray Village grounds. Dananjaya Lakshan and Kamindu Mendis steadied the ship with valuable contributions with the bat for the Richmondites. In reply the lads from Negombo fell short of the target as they got bowled out for 215 inside 47 overs. Sachindu Colombage stroked 65 with the bat as it was not enough to reach the winning line. Avindu Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers for the lads from Galle as he ended up with figures of 3 for 26.
