Newly assembled Sri Lanka National Football team under the watchful eyes of new Head Coach Serbian, Nikola Kavazovic will make their maiden tour of Seychelles for two International friendly matches to be played on 26th & 28th of August 2014, at Unity Stadium in Seychelles.
Nikola Kavazovic who was instrumental in Tajikistan winning the AFC challenge trophy, heads the Sri Lanka Technical crew, along with Sampath Perera, Sri Lanka Coach, Dudley Steinwall, Assistant Coach and Mahinda Galagedera as the Goalkeeper trainer, took control of the young & talented National Squad under his training after strenuous trials held for three days on 28th, 29th & 30th of June 2014.
The short listed squad of 23 was under residential training since 3rd July 2014. Though the training was hampered by the ongoing Dialog Premier League Tournament, as the players have to be released for Club matches, the Coach is confident that the National Team will perform to their ability on this tour of Seychelles. He is impressed with the tremendous talent of the players and commitment towards training.
Navy SC’s Chathuranga Sanjeewa will be captaining the National side. The squad will be leaving to Seychelles on the 23rd of August.
