The inaugural “Rayyan Talon Smash 2018” badminton tournament is one of the most awaited sporting events of the year amongst the Sri Lankan community in Doha.
The event is open for all Sri Lankan School OBAs and Sri Lankan embassy affiliated associations based in the state of Qatar. The event is expected to attract hundreds of racket enthusiasts in and around Doha. This will be an ideal opportunity for many racket sports enthusiasts to team up and showcase their talent.
The “Rayyan Talons Smash 2018” has been organized by SACKOBA Qatar, a premier Old Alumni Association established in Qatar under the patronage of the Sri Lankan embassy. This is for the first time the organizers bring you a live Badminton tournament of its kind. The one-day championship is scheduled to be held on 4th May 2018 at Al-Saad indoor sports complex from 1pm onwards in collaboration with Prime Sports, Doha.
The tournament has been designed to encourage the participation of different age groups, and hence is expected to attract over 200 sportsmen. This will be a highly interactive event that would allow the convergence of a large number of spectators.
The organizers take great pleasure in inviting all fellow Sri Lankans and racket sports enthusiasts to come and witness this amazing tournament while promoting values and social awareness of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The SACKOBA Qatar is a non-profit organization established in 2009. The association is formed of a group of alumnus of St. Anthony’s College Kandy, Sri Lanka and has been operating under the auspices of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar since 2010.
