The Mercantile ‘Tier B’ competition has been nothing but an electrifying tournament thus far with players showcasing some admirable performances with both bat and ball.

The De Soyza Stadium in Moratuwa hosted a low scoring thriller which featured Kanrich Finance and Citizen’s Development Bank. Winning the toss CDB decided to bowl first as the reins were handed over to Imran Khan.

Khan’s bowling was an absolute treat to watch as he dismantled the Kanrich top order with some serious pace. By the 12th over, Imran Khan had sent half the Kanrich batsmen back into the hut as the score stood at 36 for the loss of 7 wickets.

The situation at hand looked as if the match would be over before the lunch break, but a stubborn Raveen Sayer displayed some sheer determination as he single handedly took Kanrich Finance to a pretty decent score, scoring an impeccable 102. Kanrich Finance was bowled out for 137 in the 36th over with Imran Khan picking up 5 wickets whilst Chamod Piyumal picked up 2 wickets for Citizen’s Development Bank.
