The Sri Lankan national champion, Ranithma Liyanage made light work to advance to the second round at the St. Denis Reunion Open 2024, following a dominant straight-set win over Lalicia Rasolonoelina of Madagascar, on Thursday.
At the Gymnase Champ Fleuri in Reunion, the 17-year-old shuttler who currently occupies the 183rd spot in the Badminton World Federation singles rankings, showcased her dominance on the court, securing a comprehensive victory with scores of 21-3, 21-5 in just 14 minutes.

The emphatic win secured her place in the pre-quarter-finals in which she was to face home hero Emmanuelle Aamette, later on Friday.
