St. Thomas College took on Trinity College today in high profile trophy game played for the Ranil Abeynaike Trophy in the inter school cricket match played at St. Thomas’s grounds today.
The visiting school who loss the toss elected to field first reducing the Thomians to a score of 107 for a loss of 10 wickets in their first innings. When the score board read 51.1 overs Captain Javed Bongso followed by Thilaksha Sumanasiri scored 22 and 42 runs apiece.
Trinitians showed up well in an all round bowling performance with all bowlers getting among the runs. Lakshan Jayasinghe, Raveen Sayer and Charith Sudharaka ran through the opposition with 3, 2 and 2 wickets each.
Though only 14 overs were sent down, Trinitians lost a wicket for a score of 30 in the first innings. Lakshitha Dassanayake contributed 21. The match will continue tomorrow
