Rajapakse returns to pilot Navy revival

Former National skipper and league winner from Navy Sports Club, Yoshitha Rajapakse is set to switch back to Navy Sports Club ahead of the 9th week of the Dialog Rugby League 2019/20.

A one-time skipper for Sri Lanka rugby in the fifteens format, Yoshitha was an outstanding third-row for Navy Sports Club and also propelled the national fifteens side to a Asia Rugby Division I Championship in 2013. 

After playing for Navy in the 2015/16 season, Yoshitha made a re-appearance in the local rugby arena in 2017 with CH & FC. Last year Rajapakse led the side to one of the most successful seasons CH has seen in the past few years, defeating all the clubs in the Dialog Rugby League.

Rajapakse has been absent in the Dialog Rugby arena this season and is expected to start against Police SC for Navy this weekend at Police Park. 

Currently Navy are at the bottom tier of the Dialog Rugby League table with only 2 wins and 6 losses, sitting at 6th in the table.
