Wesley College hosted Trinity College Kandy in their interschool cricket encounter which ended in a draw at Campbell Park a short while ago.
Wesley College resuming their innings on 157 for the loss of 8 wickets managed to put up 186 runs in 47.5 over’s. Wet ground conditions forced a late start to the match during day two with only Migara Wickramasinghe, Shalika Ediriweera and Sachin Jayawardene contributing for the home side during day one with scores of 45, 32 and 28 respectively.
Pramodya Abeykoon was the star with the ball for the Lions taking 4 wickets for 23 runs in 7 over’s with Charith Sudharaka capturing 3/64 in 11 over’s.
Trinity College batting in their first innings ended the day with 126 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 36.3 over’s. Wicketkeeper batsman Lakshitha Dassanayake top scored with 43 runs while deputy skipper Rajitha Jayatunga scored 42 runs for the visitors.
Skipper Dinuk Wickramanayake ended his innings unbeaten on 15* runs. For the home team Migara Wickramasinghe ended with figures of 3/15 in 6.3 over’s.

Chamara Nanayakkara only highlight on day 2
The interschool match between Thurstan College and St. Sebastian’s College ended in a dull draw today in Moratuwa with Thurstanite Nanayakkara being the only highlight.
Thurstan College after being 2 for no loss at the end of the first days play managed to score 211 for the loss of 8 wickets runs in 68.5 over’s before declaring. The match was disrupted on a number of occasions due to rain. The match commenced at 12.30 pm today.
Minhad Jaleel and Rajitha Perera who shared 8 wickets during day one played their part with the willow with the former scoring 26 runs and the later scoring 31 runs. The main contribution however came from the middle order with Chamara Nanayakkkara scoring 54 runs. Raveesha Lokuge remained unbeaten on 15* runs at the end of the innings.
For the Sebastian’s Isuru Mendis captured three vital wickets for 59 runs while Nimesh Fernando took 2 wickets for 34 runs.
St. Sebastian’s faced only 2.5 over’s in their 2nd innings and they scored 10 runs for no loss.
