Joketani Raikabula was awarded a week’s ban after a disciplinary inquiry held yesterday at the Havelocks Sports Club.
Raikabula who is a key figure of the Upcountry Lions set up, will miss a crucial game against SL Army on the 23rd of November due to this one week ban.
Raikabula was awarded a red card by referee Irshard Cader for allegedly lashing out at Ishan Noor skipper of CR & FC in the opening week of the Dialog Rugby League.
Both Upcountry Lions and Army SC are still to be beaten after the opening week, and it will be interesting to see how this decision will affect the outcome of the game. However, the Lions managed to defeat CR with only 14 men for nearly 50 minutes after Raikabula’s suspension.
