The Presidential Sports Award Ceremony for the years 2017 & 2018 will be held on the 17th of July 2019 at the BMICH from 4.15 pm onwards under the patronage of President, his excellency Maithripala Sirisena and the guidance of the Sports Minister Mr. Harin Fernando.
The prestigious event will recognize the sportsmen and women who have performed exceptionally in both national and international stages.

A new set of ‘Once-in-a-lifetime’ awards will also be presented at the ceremony. The award winners will brace the new titles of Kreeda Deshoththara, Kreeda Ratna, Kreeda Bushana and Kreeda Praba.
Making the event all the more special, this year, sportsmen and women with special needs who competed in Para games will also be considered for awards for the first time.
The highlight of the evening will be the main set of awards for the Most Outstanding Sportswoman, Most Outstanding Sportsman, Most Outstanding Upcoming Sportswoman and Most Outstanding Upcoming Sportsman which will be adjudicated by a panel of distinguished judges.
There will also be a “Most Popular’ category to be voted by the public.
