Premier League Tournament 2012-13 – Round Three – Day One

Dimuth Karunaratne hits a masterful century, an unbeaten 109 off 185 balls with 13 boundaries and a six and shared a imposing 182 for the first wicket with Tharanga Paranavithana as SSC made 216 for one against NCC at SSC grounds yesterday.

 

NCC bowlers were hardly effective as host laid the foundation for a huge total on a flat track.

Sri Lanka Navy reached 124 for five at stumps on day one of their Premier League cricket tie against Baduraliya SC at Surrey grounds.

Gayas Christopher was unbeaten on 41.

Navy– 124 for 5 in 50.2 overs ( G Christopher 41 not out, B Hasaranga 36; A Silva 2 for 35)


Dilshan Vitharana and Roscoe Thattil hit half centuries as BRC reached 268 for 6 at stumps against Ragama CC in their rain-curtailed Premier League match at BRC grounds.

Opener Vitharana made 70 off 87 balls with 12 boundaries and a six and Thatill hit 57 off 116 balls to help them reached a decent score on day one.

Moors Dilhara Lokuhettige claimed five for 45 and Vimukthi Perera captured 3 for 30 as Colts CC were bowled out for a paltry 149 in their Premier League match at Colts grounds yesterday. Angelo Mathews hit a top score of 63 but a dramatic batting collapse saw them managing just 149.

Malinda Pushpakumara also took two wickets for 43 runs.

At stumps Moors were 16 for no loss.

Test caps Shaminda Eranga and Suranga Lakmal shared eight wickets between them as Galle SC were bowled out for 137 runs in their Premier League match against Tamil Union at Galle yesterday. It was a sorry batting display by the hosts as Lakmal claimed five for 21 while Eranga picked three for 29 runs.

At stumps Tamil Union were 28 for the loss of one wicket.

CCC lost three quick wickets in reply to Kurunegala YCC’s first innings total of 213 all out at Welagedara Stadium yesterday. Earlier Maduka Liyanapathiranage took five wickets to restrict home side for 213 with Saman Dharmapala hitting a fine 52.

Test discard Prasanna Jayawardane top scored with 77 runs before Imran Khan claimed five for 67 runs to dismiss Panadura SC for 214 in their Premier league match against Bloomfield at Panadura Esplanade yesterday. At stumps Bloomfield were 8 for no loss.

Asiri Karunaratne impressed with a four for 54 as Saracens managed 171 for nine in their rain curtailed Premier League match against Sri Lanka Air Force at Riffle Green yesterday.

Army’s Ajantha Mendis took six for 65 to restrict Lankan CC for 197 for 7 at stumps on day one in their Premier League tie at Panagoda yesterday.

Chilaw Marians hit a rapid 66 off 14 overs in their rain affected Premier match against Sri Lanka Ports Authority at Moors grounds yesterday.
