Two major schools from Colombo played today in the Singer Schools U13 Division 1 Cricket Tournament at Royal College grounds, Colombo. The visiting team Zahira College won the toss and opted to field first. Royal juniors were too good for the visitors when they scored 206 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 40.5 overs and declared the inning. Praveen Ambanpola put up a classic century by scoring 104 runs while Buda Kumarathunga scored 55 runs. Mohommed Maiqdad was the pick of the bowlers when he chipped in 3 wickets for 76 runs.
In return the visiting team could score only 42 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 32.4 overs when the play stopped due to rain. Shehath Perera took 2 wickets for just one run.

St. Peter’s College, Colombo vs St.Joseph’s College, Wattala
Another two rivals played today in the Singer Schools U13 Division 1 Cricket Tournament at Basilica grounds, Ragama. The home team St. Joseph’s won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Junior Peterites were solid in their batting, scoring 181 runs losing only two wickets in 46 overs and declared the inning. Isira Ayupala scored an unbeaten 70 runs while Vishan Halambage and Anupa Garumanna scored 48 & 33 runs respectively.
St. Joseph’s juniors could bat only 14.5 overs and score 22 runs losing 2 wickets before play was stopped due to rain.

Juniors from Moratuwa puts up a delightful batting performance today in the Singer Schools U13 Division 01 Cricket Tournament when they played against Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya.
The visiting team from Pannipitiya won the toss and invited the home team to bat first. Taking the maximum advantage of it the Prince of Wales juniors scored 224 runs for the loss of 2 wickets completing 26 overs and declared their inning. Revith Jayasuriya scored 92 runs while Achala Perera scored 51 runs not out and Kenul de Zoysa scored 46 runs.
Chasing a decent total on score board Dharmapala managed to score only 63 runs loss of 5 wickets completing 44 overs before the rain stopped play for the day. Sahan Lithmina scored 37 runs not out while Ramiru Perera and Yenula Dewthusha shared two wickets each as 2 for 11 and 2 for 13 respectively.
