Left arm spinner, Prabath Jayasuriya’s match bag of 11 for 82 guided Colts Cricket Club to record an innings win against Bloomfield Cricket Club today at Colts ground. Bloomfield resumed day three on 105/4 and lost the remaining 6 wickets for 45 runs. Prabath Jayasuriya destroyed the Bloomfield batting line up with 7 wickets for 26 runs. After being asked to follow on, Bloomfield only managed to score 194 runs for the second innings. Spin twins of Colts, Prabath Jayasuriya and the experienced Dilruwan Perera picked up 4 wickets a piece.

BRC managed to defeat Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC by 35 runs in the three day match which concluded today at BRC grounds. BRC resumed day two on 116 for 8 and were bowled out for just 126 runs in their second innings. Off spinner, Maduka Liyanapathiranage once again starred with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets for 18 runs. Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC just had to chase down 122 runs to win the match but a batting collapse saw them bowled out for just 86 runs. Thilakarathne Sampath was the pick of the bowlers for BRC as he bagged 3 wickets for 18 runs.

Group ‘A’ encounter between Ragama and SSC ended in a draw at Welegedara Stadium today. SSC resumed day three on 76 for 2 and declared their innings at 307 runs for 6 wickets. Hard hitting batsman Dasun Shanaka made a brilliant century for SSC while Milinda Siriwardene (60) and test discard Kaushal Silva (47) chipped in with valuable contributions with the bat. Left arm spinner Amila Aponso picked up 4 wickets for Ragama CC. For the second innings, Ragama CC scored 156 runs for 5 wickets when the umpires called stumps on day three. Left handed Lahiru Milantha (61) and right handed dasher Shehan Fernando (50) chipped in with half centuries. Off spinner Charith Asalanka bagged 3 wickets for 25 runs.

Tamil Union Cricket Club took major honors in the drawn match against Badureliya Sports Club. Tamil Union resumed day three on 45 for 1 and wisely declared the innings at 182 for 5 by setting a target of 319 runs for Badureliya. Dineth Thimodya contributed with 68 runs and the tall left- arm fast medium bowler Binura Fernando showed his skills with the bat as he scored a valuable 54 runs. While chasing the target, Badureliya were struggling and only managed to score 167 runs for 6 at stumps. Off spinning all-rounder, Ramith Rambukwella took a match bag of 8 wickets for 102 runs.
