For the third consecutive occasion, ThePapare.com is pleased to announce the launch of the Most Popular Schools Rugby Player award for the Singer Schools Rugby League.

The Schools Rugby League that is about to embark on to the second round has seen a large amount of talent from the schoolboy players who have excelled in their respective positions taking the hopes and aspirations of their schools forward.

Introduced in 2015, the primary intention of this award is to identify and acknowledge the efforts that the schoolboys put on the field and to motivate the individuals to take up rugby as a cause. In its first year, it was the Royal College #8 Supun Warnakulasooriya who took the award while Naveen Henakankanamage of S. Thomas’ & Yuzraan Lantra of Zahira College were holder for 2016 & 2017 respectively.

This year, ThePapare has shortlisted 8 talented individuals from eight schools for this award and we now open the portal out for you to pick your choice.

The nominees for this year will be as follows:

  2. Vishwa Ranaraja – Trinity College
  3. Gamunu Chethiya – St. Joseph’s College
  4. Asiri Seneviratne – Kingswood College
  5. Manilka Rubeyru – Isipathana College
  6. Murshid Zubair – Wesley College
  7. Minhaj Samsudeen – Zahira College
  8. Jason Karunaratne – St. Peter’s College

Voting for the Most Popular Schools Rugby Player will commence on 20th June 2018 and will conclude 10th July 2018.
