Prolific sevens player and St. Peter’s College skipper Kevin Dixon has been appointed as the captain of the under 20 national contingent scheduled to leave the country for the Asia Under 20 Sevens Series.
This is not the first occasion where Kevin Dixon took the reigns as captain of the national contingent. He captained the Under 18 Sevens national team that took part in the Junior Youth Games which was held in China two years back. His goose-steps and dazzling footwork is better suited for the shorter version of the game and earlier this year, Dixon took his St. Peter’s College sevens team to win the All Island Under 20 Schools Sevens championship.
Meanwhile the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Squad has trimmed down the 17 member squad to 12 which will leave the island for Malaysia on Wednesday. The team is coached by former national fly half Colin Denish and will be assisted by Rajeev Perera.
