Traditional fixture between St. Anne’s College and St. Anthony’s College commenced today at St. Anthony’s College grounds. Hosts skipper won the toss and invited the visiting team to bat first. The lads from Kurunegala posted a solid 294 runs on the board for their first innings.
Dineth Chandimal top scored with a classy 114 runs while Randeera Ranasinghe contributed with 51 runs. Skipper Yasindu Jayaweera, who bowls leg spin, picked up 5 wickets for the home side. In reply, the Antonians were 39 runs for 1 wicket at stumps on day one.

Left arm fast bowler Pasan Pethangoda was the main destroyer with the ball for the lads from Galle as he picked up 5 wickets for 30 runs. In reply, Mahinda College was 202 runs for 6 wickets when umpires called stumps on day one. Right handed stroke maker Hanishka Welahinda stroked a magnificent century for the home team.
