Sri Lankan opening batter Pathum Nissanka has been signed by Rangpur Riders to play in the Bangladesh Premier League 2023.
The 24-year-old Nissanka will be playing in an overseas franchise-based T20 tournament for the first time in his career.
Nissanka who has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka, has represented the national team in 62 international matches (9 Test, 17 ODIs and 36 T20Is). Nissanka who is currently ranked 10th in ICC T20 batting rankings, had an excellent run in the just concluded T20 World Cup where he finished 7th highest run-getter of the tournament, scoring 214 runs 7 matches at 30.57.
The 9th edition of Bangladesh Premier League will be held from 06th January to 16th February 2023. The 7-team competition will consist of a total of 46 matches which will be played in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
