Last year joint champion P. De S. Kularathne College, Ambalangoda emerged champions of the Under 19 Inter Schools Division Two Tier ‘B’ Limited Overs Cricket tournament.
- P. De S. Kularathne College, Ambalangoda beat Taxila Central College, Horana by 35 runs in the final played yesterday (14th December) at BRC Grounds.
Having won the toss, the lads from Ambalangoda elected to bat first and posted 158 runs in 47.3 overs. Maheesha Prabashana was the chief scorer as he made 41 runs while Dhanushka Madusanka (25) and Lasheen Wanindu (21) helped to build their innings with crucial knocks. Charith Harshana was the pick of the bowlers for Taxila Central College as he bagged 4 wickets for 28 runs.
In reply, Taxila Central College, Horana were bowled out for 123 runs in 45 overs. Shahan Diwyanjana showed some resistance with a fighting 54 runs. In the bowling department, Lasheen Wanindu and Akila Chathuranga impressed with sharing 5 wickets between them.
