The Sri Lanka Over 60s Cricket Team finished 4th at the recently concluded Over 60s Cricket World Cup, which ended in Chennai yesterday (3rd March). All the top Cricketing nations except for Pakistan and Bangladesh participated in this 12-team tournament.
During the group league stages, Sri Lanka won against India, Wales and the rest of the world. The game against West Indies was tied and they only lost to Australia, finishing 2nd in the group.

The Islanders then lost to England in the first Semi Final, missing out a final berth. Australia defeated England comfortably in the Final to lift the trophy.

In the 3rd place play-off game, Sri Lanka lost to New Zealand by a mere 20 runs and were left to be satisfied with 4th place.
