Old Peterite Orville Fernando was re-elected as the President of the Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Referees in their Annual General Meeting (AGM) held yesterday.
In a close election Fernando beat another veteran Dilroy Fernando by 31 votes to 29.
IRB qualified referee Dilroy Fernando was appointed as a vice president.
Former Kingswoodian Mahesh Senanayake was appointed as secretary for the second time after he held the position in 2010.
Another veteran Wimal Perera was elected as treasurer.
However, the annual accounts were not approved due to some discrepancies and it was decided to have a Special General Meeting on a later date to adopt them.
