The resilient Oman National Hockey team clinched their maiden Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup title after defeating Chinese Taipei 4-3 in the gold medal match. Champions of the last tournament, Bangladesh, trounced Kazakhstan 3-0 to win the bronze medal match.
With this trump, Oman, along with Chinese Taipei secured their spots in the Asia Cup Finals tournament, scheduled to be held next August, in Rajgir, Bihar, India. The AHF Hockey Cup competition was hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia, from April 17th to 27th, featuring 10 Asian teams competing over 10 thrilling days filled with high level performances.

Earlier, the Sri Lanka stickers secured 7th place overall, and Dammika Ranasinghe was the standout player for the island nation with 5 goals, while Suresh Rathnayake managed to score 4 valuable goals. Furthermore, Sanda Sudusinghe made a couple, while Sandaruwan Batuvita, Udayashan Fernando, Demian Karunamunige and Kusal Weerappuli managed to score one each to lift the Sri Lankan side.
