The National Olympic committee of Sri Lanka celebrated the International Olympic day on the 25th of June in Polhena Matara giving environmental sustainability a massive emphasis during their celebrations.
Beach cleaning project was carried out at the Polhena beach by the participation of young students while a Coral re plantation program commenced with the theme of ‘Give the reef a chance’, the residents of the Matara were given a taste of beach games in the like of Beach volleyball, Beach Kabaddi and Surfing with national athletes taking part in exhibition events.
