On September 1st, 11.15pm, Nuwan Indika took part in the Men’s 100m Finals, in the T-44 category. This Sri Lankan athlete has been a prominent figure in this event, securing a silver in the 2023 World Para Athletics Grand Prix. Yet, at the Paralympics, he was unable to secure a medal but had a good run.

Indika in Lane 4, pushed off in a strong start and seemed to be towards the middle of the pack. As the race progressed, it was through a very close proximity to fourth place where he secured fifth place, being only a millisecond off.

However, he still ran a season’s best of 11.67 seconds, which is a great achievement on an international scale.

With his performance, Indika has brought pride to the country as he has gone very far in the world of track and field, encouraging us all to never let any obstacles stand in the way of your dreams.
