National School of Business Management recorded a convincing 82-run victory over American National College in their Red Bull Campus Cricket 2015 first round fixture conducted on Monday at Thurstan College grounds.
The match was scheduled to be played on 9th May at the same venue but due to bad weather, the game was shifted to 25th May. NSBM skipper Lakshitha Dassanayake won the toss and elected to bat first. He came to bat with his opening partner Jeson Buultjens and they gave a flying start putting 26 runs in less than 15 balls for the 1st wicket. Jeson made 13 while Lakshitha stroked 18 runs but right-arm medium bowler Ashan Schokman captured 2 quick wickets to peg back the NSBM charge and they were restricted to 67 for 4 at the half-way stage.
Stylish right-handed batsman Rasith Jayaratne and left-handed Damith Jerome steadied the middle overs adding 40 runs for the 5th wicket. Rasith top scored for the NSBM side with a 28-ball knock of 26 and his innings comprised 2 fours while Damith made 17 runs. ANC kept the strong NSBM batting lineup to 130 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Off-spinner Neshan Kaluarachchi grabbed 2 wickets as well for ANC. 
Chasing 131 runs to win, ANC batsmen were totally outplayed by the NSBM bowlers as they were bundled out for a mere 48 runs in 15.2 overs. Left-arm spinner Thilan Perera was the star taking 4 wickets for 4 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Leg-spinner Rasith Jayaratne cleaned up the tail scalping 3 for 8 runs. None of the ANC batsmen achieved double digits in a dismal batting performance.
