Two matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) U19 Provincial Limited Overs Tournament 2018 were concluded today at Colombo and Katunayake. Central Province and North Western Province managed to register wins in the concluded matches against Northern Province and North Central Province respectively.
Northern Province vs Central Province
The Group A fixture between Central Province and Northern Province was worked off today at CCC Ground in Colombo. The Central Province skipper won the toss and decided to field first in their last group stage match in the tournament. The decision paid off as they restricted Northern Province to 81 runs in 35.1 overs.

Central Province bowlers displayed a disciplined bowling effort which was instrumental in causing the batting collapse for Northern Province. Kalhara Senarathne, Osanda Herath, Pubudu Bandara and Nimnaka Jayathilaka picked up 2 wickets each for Central Province.

In reply, Central Province chased down the target of 82 runs comfortably in 25 overs with 9 wickets to spare. Pubudu Bandara (36) and Gajitha Kotuwegoda (34) starred with the bat and guided Central Province to their first victory in the tournament.

North Central Province vs North Western Province
The Group B fixture between North Western Province and North Central Province conclude today at Chilaw Marians Cricket Ground in Katunayake. After winning the toss, North Western Province skipper opted to field first and bowled out North Central Province for just 138 runs in 38.5 overs.

Chamodya Ruwanwella (32) and Avishka Senadeera (26) were the top scorers for North Central Province. The 17-year old left arm leg spinner Kaveen Bandara, a product of Maliyadeva College was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged 4 scalps for just 27 runs for North Western Province.
Due to the prevailing weather conditions, North Western Province could bat only 34.1 overs in their run chase and posted 130 runs for 7 wickets. According to the Duckworth-Lewis method, North Western Province had to score 129 runs in 34.1 overs. Therefore, North Western Province won the match and recorded their second win in the tournament.
