Day 2 of the match between Negombo CC and Badureliya SC continued at the Surrey Village Grounds in Maggona today (7).

Visitors Negombo CC resuming the day on 233/6 went on to post a healthy 328 all-out in 122.3 overs.
The star with the bat for them was Prasanna Jayamanne who went on to make his second first class century before he was dismissed for a superb 108.
Wicket keeper batsman Dilasri Lokubandara also made a patient half century for the boys from Negombo.
A notable factor in the Badureliya bowling effort was their two right arm seamers Buddhika Sanjeewa and Lahiru Samarakoon sharing 8 wickets between them.
Sanjeewa ended with top figures of 5/74 while Samarakoon – Badureliya’s hero from last weekend with the bat – captured 3/81.
Badureliya SC in reply ended the day on 130/0 in 53 overs as the Negombo CC bowlers struggled to find ways to penetrate their defence.
Alankara Asanka who has been brilliant with the ball with his right arm off-spin over a number of years, continued to impress in his new role as opener this season going on to remain unbeaten on 62*. His partner Salinda Ushan remained unbeaten on 68* as Badureliya ended day two 198 runs behind Negombo CC.
The only success Negombo CC had in their bowling effort was the fact that they didn’t concede a single extra, which helped restrict Badureliya SC’s scoring to less than 2 and a half runs per an over.
