Sri Lanka Navy women’s football club were crowned champions in women’s Division I Football after going undefeated.
The division I this season is comprised of the four force team; Police, Navy, Air Force, Army. The tournament was played in two rounds with teams playing home and away.
Navy in their six matches won three and drew three, while scoring eight and only conceding three goals. Navy were five points clear of the second placed Army SC. The women sailors comprising of a few national players including Sakura Sewwandi and Praveen Maduki were dominant throughout the tournament to walk away with the championship. Navy defeated Army 1-0 in the 1st round while they drew 0-0 in the 2nd round. Navy’s biggest win came against Air Force winning 3-0 in the first round.

Army who were runners-up lost only one match which was against Navy but they drew four of the rest of their matches hampering their title hopes. Air Force SC in the six matches won one which was against Police while drawing three and losing two. Police SC were unable to win a single match while drawing four and losing two.
