Class was in session for a hapless CH & FC outfit that fell victim to the reign of supremacy of the Navy sports club.
Having usurped the throne of the hill country the sailors set foot in the royal college sports complex with the certainty of victory which once the whistle was blown reflected in every scrum ruck and passage of play.
Despite a spirited CH & FC out fits acts of defiance in the forwards play they failed to make a noteworthy impact on the game as the sailors ruthlessly exploited every possible opportunity to cease possession which CH & FC managed to starve them of for great periods of time. However once the possession shifted the sailors only retained it for a brief period of time as a few fast paced phases of play saw the ball touching down over the try line and in most instances under the post CH & FC managed to put a solitary penalty on the board in the first half which was conceded by the sailor for handling the ball on the deck. Jone Avokia Vota, Nuwan Hettiarachchi and Joeli Luthumagi were responsible for the sailors points as Nuwan Hettiarachchi displayed his usual consistency with the boot.
HALF TIME : Navy 28 – CH & FC 03
With the beginning of the second half the sailors laid testament to their superior attacking prowess as each and every attacking phase saw the balling being moved and average of thirty five to forty five meters with the ball travelling effectively to the their formidable wing three quarters Dinusha Chathuranga and Thisila Devinda who moved the ball and kept it in play which provided a solid plat form to mount returning phases which the CH & FC defense could not contain with their numbers in disarray.
The Sailors were all hands on deck as the flood gates burst open. Fijian center for Navy SC Jone Avokia Vota made a mockery of the oppositions defensive skills as he leisurely paraded through the red and white line in more than once occasion to score comfortable unchecked and hardly challenged. The sailors accumulated a mammoth score of 85 points in the second half through the likes of Dinusha Chathuranga, Chula Susantha, Nuwan Hettiarachchi and Jason Dissanayaka . However the CH & FC unit put on a spirited display of battering at the navy goal line one pick and drive after another. However the start studded navy forwards unit managed to contain the surmounting pressure until lack of discipline on the deck saw CH & FC being awarded a Penalty try.
