Saunders got the best chance of the first half as Navy’s J.G.A. Chatu Ranga lunged in and made a horrible tackle and got himself booked. From the resulting free kick Saunders Captain Sameera Perera struck a swirling free kick but a good save from navy goalkeeper kept he scores nil-all at the end of the first half.

Even though the best chance of the first half belonged to Saunders, Navy started the second half in good fashion as they managed to cross the ball in to the danger area on many occasions but did not manage to rattle the back of the net.

But as the game was heading to a score-less draw the manager of the Navy football team made a magical move as he brought on Muhanmadu Insaf.
