Thurstan College, Colombo overcame Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa by 61 runs in their Singer-cup traditional game which was worked off today at the Thurstan grounds.
At the start of the second day, the visitors were knocked over for a paltry 81 runs in 30.1 overs in reply to the 171 made by Thurstan College on the first day. Having a strong lead of 90 runs, the home team were dismissed for 124 in 48.2 overs in their second essay. Kaumal Nanayakkara picked up 5 scalps as he completed a match bag of 10 for 50.
Chasing a target of 214, the Cambrians lost wickets at regular intervals as they fell short by 61 runs. Sanoj Darshika stroked 48 runs while left-arm spinner Naveen Gunawardana grabbed 6 wickets for the home team as they completed a comfortable win over the Cambrians.

Mahinda College, Galle completed a first innings win against Wesley College, Colombo in their group B encounter which ended today at Campbell Park.
Resuming on 79 for 4 on day 2, the lads from Galle went on to score 193 runs in 79 overs. Kavindu Ediriweera top scored with 40 while off spinner Movin Subasinghe claimed 6 wickets for the home team.
The home team put up a fighting performance in the second innings as they finished on 232 for 5 at close of play. Hasith Perera made a classy 84 while Jason De Silva and Thilina Perera made useful half-tons.

St. Joseph’s Vaz College demolished President’s College by an innings and 100 runs in their group D game which was worked off today in Wennappuwa.
Nipun Perera picked up 5 wickets for the hosts as the visitors got knocked over for a disappointing 69 runs in 19.2 overs before lunch in the second innings. Earlier in the game President’s College made only 109 while St. Joseph’s Vaz College racked up 278 in 65 overs.

Richmond College, Galle took major honours against St. Anthony’s College, Wattala as they snatched up first innings points in their group A game which ended in a draw at the Mahinda Rajapaksha International grounds.
Adithya Siriwardana made a superb 85 as the hosts declared their innings on 194 for 6 wickets after the visitors got bowled out for 157 in the first innings. The lads from Wattala made only 146 in the second innings as Sanka Madubashana guided them with a solid 75 runs, while off spinner Sandun Mendis captured 5 scalps for the home team.
