The fifth week’s matches of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 continued for Day 2 at Dambulla and Pallekele.

Team Galle posted a commanding total – 435 on the board for the first innings against Team Colombo at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

In addition to Dinesh Chandimal’s century recorded yesterday, Nisala Tharaka (76), Ramesh Mendis (72) and Dilum Sudeera (66*) made vital contributions with fine half-centuries.

The 26-year old seaming all-rounder Dhananjaya Lakshan was the pick of the bowlers for Team Colombo as he grabbed 5 wickets for 99 runs.

In reply, Team Colombo got off to a decent start putting on 85 runs for 1 wicket at stumps on Day 2. Colombo No. 3 batter Lakshan struck unbeaten 53 runs off 49 balls with 8 fours.

Team Jaffna managed to take upper hand on Day 2 of their encounter against Team Dambulla at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

After being 206/2 at the close of play on Day 1, Team Jaffna went onto post 418 runs for their first innings.

The opening batter Ravindu Rasantha added 20 runs to his overnight score of 100 and the veteran batter Angelo Mathews added just 1 run to his overnight score of 63 runs.

The skipper Janith Liyanage (79*) and wicket-keeper batter Niroshan Dickwella (70) also made crucial fifties in the middle-order.

Dulaj Samuditha and Akila Dananjaya stood out with the ball for Team Dambulla, claiming 3 wickets each. In reply, Team Dambulla made 54 runs for 1 wicket at the close of play on Day 2.
