The first week’s matches of National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 continued for Day 2 at Hambantota and Galle.  

Team Galle posted a mammoth first innings total against Team Kandy in the first match of the tournament played today at Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota.  

The opening batter Nipun Dhananjaya, the off-spinning all-rounder Ramesh Mendis struck brilliant centuries while Dilum Sudeera, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Oshada Fernando chipped with half-centuries to take Galle to 602 runs for their first innings.  

Team Kandy were 52/1 at the close of play on Day 2 with the opening batter Lahiru Udara remained unbeaten with 36 runs.  

Team Colombo managed to strengthen their grip against Team Jaffna in the second match of National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 which continued for Day 2 at Galle International Cricket Stadium.  

After being 374/7 at the close of pay on Day 1, Team Colombo managed to add only 12 runs for the remaining 3 wickets. The wrist-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay stood out with the ball for Team Jaffna, scalping 6 wickets for 86 runs.  

In reply, Team Jaffna posted 227 runs for 7 wickets with Anjala Bandara (84*) and Janith Liyanage (51) top scoring with vital half-centuries.  The off-spinner Nishan Peiris was the pick of the bowlers for Team Colombo as he grabbed 3 wickets for 55 runs.
