National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 kicked off today (13th March) with two games – Galle vs Kandy, Colombo vs Jaffna happening on the opening day.
In the opening game of the tournament, Team Galle showcased a brilliant batting effort against Team Kandy, putting on 336 runs for 4 wickets on Day 1 at Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota.

The opening batter Nipun Dhananjaya was the star performer with the bat as he hit unbeaten 135 runs off 261 balls with 12 fours. Dhananjaya’s opening partner Oshada Fernando and wicket-keeper batter Sadeera Samarawickrama also starred with the bat, scoring valiant half-centuries.
Avishka Fernando’s brilliant century helped Team Colombo put on a solid total on the board against Team Jaffna in the second match of National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 which commenced today at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Having won the toss, Colombo skipper Charith Asalanka opted to bat first and managed to post 374 runs for 7 wickets with the opening batter Fernando starring with a magnificent knock of 144 runs off 164 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 87.80.

The skipper Asalanka and No. 4 batter Kavin Bandara also chipped in with useful half centuries. The wrist-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay was the pick of the bowlers for Team Jaffna as he grabbed 4 wickets for 84 runs.
