The final of National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2023/24 between Team Kandy and Team Galle continued for Day 3 (2nd May) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The day began with Team Galle on 247/8 for their first innings with the skipper Ramesh Mendis remained unbeaten at the crease on 79. This was in reply to Team Kandy’s first innings score of 316.

Mendis went onto score his 10th century in first-class cricket as Team Galle posted 304 for their first innings. Sithum Disanayaka and Nimsara Atharagalla were the standout performers with the ball for Team Kandy as they bagged 3 wickets each.
Team Kandy began their second innings 12 runs ahead but didn’t impress with the bat in the second essay as they were bundled out for just 163 runs. The off-spinner Nishan Peiris ripped through Kandy batting lineup, scalping 5 wickets for 42 runs.
Team Kandy will begin their run-chase tomorrow, needing 176 runs to win with 10 wickets in hand.
