Team Galle registered a 10-wicket win over Team Colombo in the 19th match of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2023/24, worked off today (26th April) at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Day 4 began with Team Galle on 9/0, chasing an easy target of 154 runs to win. They managed to chase down the target quite convincingly without losing any wicket as the Galle opening pair, Oshada Fernando and Sangeeth Cooray, put on an unbeaten partnership of 156 for the first wicket.

Fernando made 89 runs off 124 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes, while Cooray hit 57 runs off 126 balls with 7 fours.
The other encounter between Team Dambulla and Team Jaffna, played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, ended in a draw.
Resuming from their overnight score of 216 for 7, Team Dambulla declared their second innings at 257 for 9 on the back of a fine half-century from Chamindu Wijesinghe. Janith Liyanage was the pick of the bowlers for Team Jaffna as he grabbed 3 wickets for 27 runs.

Team Jaffna were set a target of 481, for which they gave a spirited fightback, scoring 368 runs for 7 wickets as Nipun Karunanayake (87) and Ron Chandraguptha (52) contributed with vital half-centuries.
