The third week’s matches of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2024 commenced today (1st February) at Colombo and Hambantota.
Team Galle posted a solid total on Day 1 of their encounter against Team Dambulla at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss, Galle skipper Sangeeth Cooray opted to bat first but had a shaky start to their innings as they lost 2 top-order wickets for just 22 runs.
The opening batter Oshada Fernando, and No. 4 batter Pasindu Sooriyabandara then revived the Galle innings, adding a 206-run partnership for the third wicket. Sooriyabandara (130*) and Fernando (127) scored centuries as Team Galle made 346/3 at the close of play on Day 1.
Half-centuries from Pathum Kumara and Nipun Dhananjaya take Team Colombo to a position of strength on Day 1 of their encounter against Team Kandy at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Opting to bat first, Team Colombo managed to post 296/6 in 85 overs at stumps on Day 1. Kumara was the top scorer for the hosts as he made an unbeaten 67 runs, while Nipun Dhananjaya (56) and
Lakshitha Manasinghe (46*) chipped in with valuable knocks.
