The fourth week’s matches of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2024 continued for Day 3 today (10th February) at Hambantota and Dambulla.
Team Galle were in a dominant position at the end of the third day’s play in their encounter against Team Jaffna, played today at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

With an 80-run first innings lead, Team Galle showcased a dominant batting display in their second innings courtesy of Skipper Sangeeth Cooray’s magnificent century.
Cooray made 193 runs off 271 balls with 18 fours and 6 sixes, while Oshada Fernando and Pasindu Sooriyabandara contributed with useful fifties.
Chasing a mammoth target of 442 runs to win, Team Jaffna faced early hiccups as they lost 3 quick wickets for just 37 runs inside 12 overs.
Team Dambulla managed to take the upper hand heading into the fourth and final day of their encounter against Team Kandy at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Team Dambulla began their second innings with a 58-run deficit and posted 325/6 at the close of play on Day 3. The Skipper Kamindu Mendis led the way with a superb century, while in-form batter Sonal Dinusha also chipped in with a vital half-century.

Mendis hit an unbeaten 167 runs off 262 balls with 23 fours as Team Dambulla finished Day 3 with a considerable lead – 267 runs with 4 wickets in hand.
