The fifth and final week’s matches of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2023 continued for day 3 today (18th February) at Galle and Hambantota.
Colombo vs Dambulla
Team Colombo resumed day three at 208/6 and added 49 more runs for the remaining 4 wickets, as they were restricted to 257 for their first innings. The middle order batter Roshan Siva was the chief scorer for Team Colombo, as he made 65 runs off 152 balls.
The opening fast medium bowler Lahiru Samarakoon was outstanding with the ball as he picked up 6 wickets for 63 runs for Team Dambulla.
Team Dambulla began their 2nd innings 84 runs ahead and posted 279/6 at the close of play on day 3. The Skipper Minod Bhanuka led the charge with the bat for Team Dambulla, scoring an unbeaten century.

Galle vs Jaffna
After failing so miserably in the 1st innings, Team Jaffna came up with a brilliant batting performance in the 2nd innings thanks primarily to the Skipper Lahiru Madushanka’s superlative ton.
After being 219/5 at stumps on day two, Team Jaffna lost the set overnight batter Avishka Tharindu for 62 runs early in the morning session. The Skipper Madushanka and Ravindu Fernando then built a 165-run stand for the 7th wicket before the latter was dismissed for 73 runs.
Madushanka was joined by Binura Fernando at the crease, and the duo added another vital 80-run partnership for the 8th wicket as Team Jaffna ended the third day’s play at 555/8.
