Galle managed to take the honors in the drawn encounter against Colombo as the 4th week’s games of National Super League 2023 ended today (12th February).
Colombo vs Galle
Galle resumed their first innings on the fourth and final day at 439/5. The overnight batter Pathum Kumara who remained unbeaten on 71 at stumps on day three, went on to score a brilliant century.
Kumara lit up the show at Hambantota scoring 151 runs off 262 balls with 12 fours. He was involved in a massive 225-run stand with the skipper Ramesh Mendis for the 6th wicket.
Mendis also showcased his batting talents amassing a superb century as Team Galle posted a massive total (703/9) on the board before the captains from both sides decided to shake hands and settle for a draw.
Mendis was outstanding with the bat for Team Galle as he aggregated 149 runs off 256 balls. Dushan Vimukthi was the pick of the bowlers for Team Colombo as he bagged 3 scalps for 122 runs.
