National and Junior National Short Course (25m) Swimming Championships 2022, organized by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union, will start from 26th December to 30th December 2022 at Isipathana College Swimming Pool.
This is the first appearance of a short course swimming meet after the Pentathlon short course swimming championships held in early 2020.
378 participants from 49 clubs and schools are set to take part in the competition, including Sri Lanka’s best swimmers. Short-course nationals have the fastest cut-offs for swimmers, and swimmers who have achieved those qualifying times can participate in this championship.
Swimmers 13 years and above are allowed to compete in the National category, and swimmers 13 & 14 years of age will be competing against each other in the junior category. A swimmer can only swim in one category and a maximum of 5 individual events.
Visakha Vidyalaya and Ananda College are the current National short-course champions. They were crowned at the last National short course held in 2019.
