Two matches in the Singer Schools U-19 Division 1 two-day cricket tournament 2017/18 were conducted today around the island.
Nalanda College, Colombo vs St. Servatius College, Matara
Nalanda College managed to win first innings points against St. Servatius College in the drawn game which concluded today at Nalanda College grounds. Servatius batsmen added only 39 runs to their overnight score today as they were bundled out for just 89 runs. After being asked to follow on, the lads from Matara were bowled out for 155 runs and set an easy target of 51 runs for Nalanda Colllege to chase. However, they could only manage to score 36 runs for 2 wickets when umpires called stumps.

Group A fixture between Bandaranayake College and Dharmasoka College commenced today at Karandeniya. After being asked to bat first, Bandaranayake batsmen posted 469 runs all out for their first innings. Sisith Madanayake top scored with 102 runs while Janindu Jayawardene (80) and Gayashan Hettiarachchi (74) chipped in with valuable half tons.
