Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan has donated all his trophies to the Foundation of Goodness – Murali Museum.
The maestro holds the record for most number of ‘Man of the Series’ award in Tests and is also the second in the list with the most number of ‘Man of the Match’ awards in Tests. He has decided to give away all his trophies to be displayed at a museum within the premises of Foundation of Goodness sports academy.
“The Murali Museum (new adventure of the organization) will be situated at the Foundation of Goodness’ Sports Academy premises in Seenigama. Murali has donated all of his trophies and memorabilia to be displayed for the public with the hope that it will help bring more attention to the Foundation and all of its good work,” trustee Kushil Gunasekera said.
The Foundation of Goodness is a leading charity organization which is working hard to help the young sportsmen and women excel in their particular sport. Even international cricketers like Tharindu Kaushal are proud products of the Foundation of Goodness.

“Murali invited his fellow trustees Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene to also display their memorabilia at this museum for a worthy cause. The museum will have free entry to the public who can make a donation at the end of the visit if they please. 60 predominantly overseas school teams from England and Australia visit the Foundation of Goodness every year, not forgetting our own school students who can view their hero’s milestones,” Kushil added further.
