A terrific 187 for the first wicket between Dilshan Munaweera and Primosh Perera helped Bloomfield SC to a crushing 124-run win over Moors SC in their Premier Limited Over match played R Premadasa grounds yesterday.
After being put into bat, Bloomfield smashed 282 for 5 in 50 overs and bowled out Moors for 158 runs inside 38 overs to record their first win in the season. Munaweera who has struggled for form came up with a classy 142 off 124 balls while his opening partner Perera made a patient 64 off 113.
Munaweera, 24, was at his brilliant best as he punished Moors bowlers mercilessly in his career-defining innings. Along the way, the right hander had smashed 18 boundaries and three sixes. After the left hand right hand combination set the perfect foundation of a big total, the middle order cashed in with some useful contributions to help them reach a challenging total. Moors bowlers were hardly effective right through the innings with leg spinner Malinda Pushpakumara returning best figures of the match, a hard earned 1 for 42 in his ten over spell.
Moors SC did not have things there way and soon slumped to 32 for 4 but a 75 runs for the fifth wicket between saw Ishan Ghouse (49) and Kaushlya Gajasinghe (39) bring some respectability to the innings. Imran Khan was the pick of the bowlers claiming three for 29 runs while Nuwan Pradeep and Suraj Randiv took two wickets each.

Moors SC: 158 all out in 37.3 overs ( I Ghouse 49, K Gajasinghe 39, I Khan 3 for 29, N Pradeep 2 for 19, S Randiv 2 for 30)
