Mothilal Jayathileke to undertake Mahanama Rugby

Fitness and conditioning guru turned coach Mothilal “Jaye” is said to spear head the future motions of Mahanama College rugby.

Coming from a fitness framed back ground Mothilal Jayathileke has moved up the food chain aggressively as the former weight lifter is now a revered trainer whose hard work and dedication has become the corner stone of many successful campaigns in all levels of rugby in Sri Lanka. 

Shrouded in much “alleged” controversy over his “hard” approaches towards both the sport and his religious dedication towards physical training, he is well known as a catalyst that “makes things happen” The red giant made heads turn in 2011 with his bold campaign with Science College who gave chills to many of the giants of the schools rugby arena. 

ThePapare managed to capture a word with Mr Jayathileke regarding his move to Mahanama after concluding this year s schools rugby season with Science College Mount Lavinia. 

“I have achieved most of my goals working in the schools, club, and national arenas. I have won over forty to fifty trophies throughout my career and have worked with some of the finest sides in every respective level of the game” said Mr Jayathileke with his Larger than life confidence. “I have worked with most of the big guns in schools arena such as S. Thomas’, St Peters, Kingswood and more. I have helped build a formidable reputation for Science College as they came up from the B division. I think a Mahanama is a school with a lot of potential for rugby and I think that they can use my experience to make the necessary changes that they need to move forward on to becoming a force to be reckoned with” 

As for his plans for the proposed transformation Mr Jayathileke said “I plan to stay with Mahanama for two to three year hoping all goes well. And the construction of a new gym is being orchestrated and infrastructure is falling in to place” he said determined to savor the challenges ahead.

Rugby fans can expect the unexpected as Mahanama under the guidance of “hard man” Mothilal Jayathileke will be hard at work from the bottom up as he is well known for causing a metamorphosis from good to great where ever his expertise is directed.
